TAP-Chicago Public Speaking Workshop
“I read a thing that actually says that speaking in front of a crowd is considered the number one fear of the average person. I found that amazing – number two was death! That means to the average person if you have to be at a funeral, you would rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.”
-Jerry Seinfeld
We’ve all been there: clammy hands, dry mouth, a nervous quiver. Public speaking can be one of the most intimidating activities of our personal and professional lives — but it doesn’t have to be. Join us for TAP-Chicago’s inaugural ongoing workshop on public speaking!
The format of the workshop will be similar to that of Toastmasters, a non-profit organization with over 230,000 members worldwide. You’ll get a chance to refine and practice your public speaking among a supportive group of people all fighting to achieve the same goal. Members will critique each other with instant and anonymous feedback to help everyone improve.
Don’t let a fear of public speaking hold you back in your life and your career! Conquer it.

Double Ten Day (雙十節) Dinner
Join TAP-Chicago to celebrate Double Ten Day (雙十節), which occurs annually on October 10th. For this special occasion, TAP-Chicago is having a holiday dinner at Tamarind with special off-menu Taiwanese dishes!
For Taiwan, Double Ten is similar to the Fourth of July for the USA, as it commemorates the start of the uprisings in 1911 that led to the collapse of the Qing dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. Overseas Chinese and Taiwanese played a key role in the birth of the ROC because founding father Sun Yat-Sen received support from many overseas communities. Large Double Ten Day parades o ccur annually all over Taiwan and in the Chinatowns of San Francisco and Chicago.
Because Tamarind is buying ingredients specifically for this meal, tickets are very limited and attendees must reserve your spot via WePay
COST
$25 by Tuesday at 5p. / $30 late registration or at door (if space is available). Space is limited, so don’t miss out!
TIME
6:30pm – 9:00pm. Please arrive on time so you don’t miss out on any special dishes.
