On Saturday, May 26, join KACC & TAP-Chicago to volunteer at Hanul’s annual Korean Senior’s Day event. We will serve over 600 participants in 2 shifts on Saturday morning and afternoon. Volunteering duties include greeting attendees, guiding seniors in the right direction, and more. Free delicious Korean lunch & t-shirts will be provided!
Why volunteer? Korean American senior citizens face linguistic, cultural and economic barriers and often suffer from social isolation and depression in their everyday life away from their home country. Each year, the festival invites over 600 Korean American seniors, their families, and volunteers to the auditorium of Amundsen High School for a day of recognition and celebration. The highlight of the event is the art performances of local and international artists and senior artists in the Cultural Art Program. The event is primarily sponsored by donations and contributions from local Korean American business owners.
