TAP-Chicago has several exciting events coming up, including speed networking, movies in the park, yacht party, BBQ/picnic, community service, Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, dragon boat racing team, and Lunar Ball to name a few! We are looking for enthusiastic committee members to help plan and execute these and other events.
If you have wanted to be more involved with TAP-Chicago or give back to the community, this is the perfect opportunity! See what goes on behind the scenes, meet some new friends, and work with a group of like-minded people.

Supporting Kollaboration Chicago 10th Annual Showcase
Join TAP-Chicago supporting Kollaboration Chicago’s 10th Annual Showcase on August 15! This year they’re taking the showcase to Chicago at historic Lincoln Hall at 2424 N Lincoln Ave.
The event begins at 1:30pm with lunch and social networking at 12:30pm. This milestone in Kollaboration history features six of the best up-and-coming artists in the Chicagoland area competing to win Kollaboration Chicago. The Chicago winner will advance to the Kollaboration STAR stage in Los Angeles to compete against other city winners for a chance at $10,000!

August Mixer & Fundraiser for Taiwan Water Park Tragedy Victims @ Pump Room
Come celebrate the dog days of summer with your new and old TAP-Chicago friends at one of Chicago’s favorite historic hot spots! We’ve reserved the Library within the Pump Room. Enjoy some of Chicago’s finest food from award winning chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten while sipping on local, domestic and international draughts and bottled beer in addition to their exotic, specialty cocktails!

Chinatown Dragon Boat Race for Literacy
Calling all aspiring paddlers! Join the TAP-Chicago Typhoon as we take on other Chicagoland teams at the Dragon Boat Race for Literacy in Chinatown. After enjoying the race, we’ll get dim sum or lunch at a local restaurant.
Dragon boating with TAP-Chicago is great way to make new friends, get a workout, experience the thrill of competition, and thrive in a team environment. Paddling experience and athletic prowess are appreciated but not required.

30 teams compete in this exciting and fast-paced boat tournament. The competition begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at around 5:00 p.m with the Awards Ceremony. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 a.m. Admission is free for all. In addition to the boat tournament, this year’s event will feature other on-land spectacles such as live musical and dance performances, children’s activities, 9 booth vendors and special guest appearances.

Chinatown 5K Supporting Project Vision
Run a 5K to build a better community! The Chicago Chinatown 5K & Youth Run is a fast course that runs through the heart of Chicago Chinatown. The Chinatown 5K partners with not-for-profit organizations to help raise funds for their various programs. For the 2nd straight year, TAP-Chicago is running and raising funds that support Project Vision as well as the TAP Dragon Boat Team.

Project: VISION is a nonprofit youth center that serves underprivileged students in grades 6-12 through free after-school programs including tutoring, college application help, English Language Learner classes, service learning opportunities, internships, and more. Dragon Boat Festival Party
Join TAP-Chicago to celebrate one of the major Taiwanese holidays, the Dragon Boat Festival!! Also known as “Duan Wu Jie” 端午節. We will have traditional holiday foods such as Zong Zi 粽子 (wrapped sticky rice) for everyone to enjoy, as well as games, and an open bar!
