All About That Bass: Taiko Drumming Concert

12072677_10101553403608535_6799679213829754149_n

Join TAP-Chicago as we check out the big taiko show ROTATIONS at the Athenaeum Theatre’s main stage! The show is an innovative collaboration between Chicago’s Ho Etsu Taiko and Los Angeles’ On Ensemble.

Attendees will see both groups perform in this exciting, high-energy drumming extravaganza! TAP-Chicago has a limited number of discount tickets for premium (2nd and 3rd row!) seats for only $25.

Purchase tickets at http://rotationstaiko.eventbrite.com/

Depending on attendee interest, the group may grab brunch before or drinks after the performance.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
One of the Midwest’s premiere taiko groups, Ho Etsu Taiko draws from traditional Japanese musical styles and a broad variety of contemporary music to create a uniquely Chicago sound with global roots.

Hailing from Los Angeles, the On Ensemble is led by childhood friends Shoji Kameda and Masato (Maz) Baba. The Ensemble has made a name for itself by infusing the powerful rhythms of taiko with overtone singing, odd meter grooves and soaring melodies.

PARKING: There are two paid parking lots and limited street parking. Parking lot fees are $2 per hour with a maximum of $6, good until 2am. Metered parking on Lincoln Ave is also available for $2 per hour for 2 hours at a time.
