The 8th Annual Lunar Ball, Chicago’s largest fundraiser for Asian American young professionals and friends, will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Join 600+ of Chicago’s most accomplished and involved professionals from over 30 community organizations at the Chicago History Museum for an evening of fun, food, and dancing! The event will include tastings from some of Chicago’s top restaurants, adult beverages all night, performances, multiple DJs, raffle, silent auction, refreshments, as well as unlimited access to the museum’s iconic Crossroad Exhibit which features Chicago’s very first “L” car from 1893.
There’s no better time than the Year of the Monkey to meet new friends and professional contacts. The event sells out every year so make sure to secure your spot today.
Giving Back to Chicago
All proceeds from Lunar Ball benefit local Chicago charities, with an emphasis on the Asian American community. Grants to our community beneficiaries help provide services to youth, elderly, and underprivileged populations, encourage leadership development, promote cultural awareness, and support other important charitable causes.

Dress Code and Theme
Dress code for the event is semi-formal, black tie optional, qi pao and tang zhuang welcome. The theme for this year is 1920’s Masquerade Party, with the colors Gold, Black and White as the theme colors. Masquerade masks welcomed. However, feathers and fur are NOT allowed in the venue.

Breakthrough Ministries is an organization that works to empower youth and adults by developing community through their programs in Chicago’s East Garfield Park.

Community Leading & Collaborative Learning: An Evening with Ernest Wong and You!
What makes someone a leader, and how do you become one? How can you, as an individual, make a difference in the community? Join us in a conversation and networking session with one Chicago’s leading architects and community leaders.
TAP-Chicago (Chicago Taiwanese American Professionals) is excited to work with Ernest Wong, Founding Principal and President of site design group, ltd., and a leader in the landscape architecture profession in the city of Chicago as we explore what makes a leader and how to create change in a community. It will also be a great chance to meet and network with other dreamers. When ambitious people get together, big things can happen!
This is also a great chance to check out the pop-up gallery space created by site design group in private, after doors are closed to the public!

About the Speaker
Ernest Wong is the President and founder of site design group ltd, an urban design and landscape architecture firm based in Chicago. Due to his many professional achievements, the Chicago Tribune named Ernest as “2010 Chicagoan of the Year”. Mr. Wong was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese American Service League (CASL), the largest social services organization in the Midwest serving Chinese Americans.
Ernest has directed many notable projects including the State Street City Lightscape, The Park at Lakeshore East, Ping Tom Memorial Park, and Mary Bartelme Park in West Loop. Ernest is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects Council of Fellows, the American Planning Association, and the Urban Land Institute.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ernest served on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Transition Committee for Economic Development and Planning. He currently serves as a Commissioner on both the Chicago Landmarks Commission and the Commission on Cultural Affairs.
